The Wholefood Home

About

Thanks for stopping by…..If you are looking to be nourished with healing wholefoods, be surrounded by natural and low tox products and all around good vibes your in the right place. The Wholefood Home provides catering for specific diets using traditional preparation techniques to create food that is not only nourishing, digestible but with the power to  heal.

I have a long history of being surrounded by amazing food…beginning with two French grandmothers growing up in Canada’s heartland…But it was moving to a small yet very abundant valley that sparked my passion for local, seasonal, organic food.  Foraging, fishing, growing and buying my food that had come within a 25 km radius that was free of sprays, seasonal and didn’t come with a huge ecological footprint was paradise found!

But alas, around the same time I also fell in love with the sea, so the gypsy in me decided to combine my two loves and began working as a private and charter yacht chef in the Caribbean islands, Central and North America and as far north as Alaska. My travels allowed me to sample regional foods, a plethora of seafood’s, spices and things in between to create healthy, diverse and delicious menus for some of the worlds most affluent yacht owners and guests.

In 2010 while in Australia I attended Whole Food expert and author Jude Blereau’s Whole and Natural food chef training in Perth. How I selected, shared, respected and prepared whole and natural foods was forever enhanced. An experience that truly changed my life, literally….while studying and consuming an extremely clean and whole diet I became pregnant with the apple of my eye…sweet Georgia

Following the program I had the privilege of spending time doing an internship at Gwinnganna Lifestyle Retreat in the Gold Coast hinterlands of eastern Australia. The kitchen uses only using organic provisions, grass-fed meats and local and sustainable fish. Daily harvests of herbs, fruits, vegetables and eggs from the on site gardens made cooking an absolute delight to be handling such amazing food, really feeling the life force of food so fresh. Eating a range of colorful foods, as clean and fresh as possible in addition to making fitness and mindfulness a daily priority was now fully ingrained in my mind, body and soul.

After returning to Canada for the birth to my beautiful daughter I took time out to my time to fully nourish and nurture my family. Spending time with my girl, growing organic vegetables and fruits, and spending lots of time in nature made for a healthy and happy home. Georgia is the true example of the power of food and its importance in the early years. She has never been seriously ill, is healthy, active and has a seasoned palette for real food!

Family and the warm weather of Australia drew us back over the Pacific where once settled I began working as a personal chef in Sydney using food as medicine principals for clients recovering from illness, busy professionals and families.

The adventure continued and found ourselves in sunny Far North Queensland where THE WHOLEFOOD HOME was born. I began to share my knowledge of traditional cooking techniques and using food for maximum nutrient density in workshops and speaking engagements.

Back in Sydney now, continuing to share my knowledge and passion for health and well-being , cooking health supportive and nutrient dense whole foods to private clients, catering events, workshops and move.

If you are transitioning to a wholefood lifestyle, have been prescribed a new diet from your doctor or naturopath or  would like whole and nourishing meals a part of your dinner table, come on over to the contact page and let’s chat.
